Pasture-Raised Pork

Happy, healthy, humanely-raised hogs.
Our pork comes from pigs living as pigs ought to, foraging for food in field and forest (along with steady rations in the trough). No confinement barns and none of what comes with confinement operations: crowded conditions, heavy medication, and an awful waste problem.
Our pork is available both by the piece and by ¼ hog orders. The individual cuts that we sell at the Red Bluff Farmers’ Markets are processed at a local, USDA-inspected facility. The ¼ hog orders consist of approximately 25-30 pounds of meat, and contain a selection of all of the cuts: tenderloin, ribs, chops, steaks, roasts, bellies (for bacon), and ground (or sausage).
We also sell some of our young pigs, for those interested in raising their own “happy, healthy, humanely-raised hogs.” We typically advertise the pigs on craigslist (Redding or Chico). We now have two purebred Duroc gilts (young females) and are hoping to acquire a Duroc boar in the next year, and so we plan to have purebred Duroc pigs available in early 2012.
